Documentation

At McMillan Consulting it is our belief that thorough documentation is essential to maintaining a functioning computer network.

Each piece of equipment that McMillan builds out or configures on a project is documented for make, model, serial number as well as all settings and configurations. All system documentation is provided to each client as part of the project.

This includes settings for servers, firewalls, routers, workstations, as well as an inventory of all CD-ROMs, software key codes, licensing information, printed materials, binders, user guides, manuals, cables, etcetera that accompany computer equipment.

All such inventory is documented and then provided to the client in an organized manner stored in a sturdy, durable container. This keeps important materials and setup CDs safe and readily available should they be required in the future.
