McMillan Consulting seeks a qualified professional as a Network Systems Engineer

Requirements of this position include 4+ years experience with Windows Server operating systems through Windows 2003 as well as MS Backoffice products. Candidate should have expert level experience with Windows SBS and Server, Exchange, WINS, SMTP, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and IIS Servers. This position requires a working knowledge of MS Terminal Server and Citrix MetaFrame. Experience with Novell Netware and Unix/Linux a plus.

Must have experience with server class hardware such as HP / Compaq including multi-processor, RAID, SCSI, and Gigabit Ethernet. This position requires strong exposure to network infrastructure; switches, routers and firewalls and the ability to learn and implement new hardware solutions is a must. Experience with Cisco products is also a plus.

Must be experienced with TCP/IP subnetting and routing, SMTP, POP3, FTP, and Telnet. Candidate must have above average experience with remote control applications, as well as ArcServe, Veritas, Tapeware, and other tape backup solutions. Experience with enterprise class virus protection systems is required.

This position will regularly configure and deploy new servers for new and existing environments, perform server migrations and recover failed systems. Desktop rollout, integration, troubleshooting and support is a standard responsibility of this position.

Candidate must possess strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, and must also have reliable vehicle to visit client sites.
